Teaching Practicum
An online collab between nidrA program grads
“Thank you for all of your thoughtful responses and feedback. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning yoga nidra with you. Again, you are a truly wonderful teacher.”
BECAUSE GETTING FEEDBACK ON NIDRA TEACHING IS HARD
Since our students are usually asleep, or in a dreamlike place, we’ve come up with a collaborative (and ingenious) process to hone your yoga nidra teaching skills and receive meaningful feedback.
Over 5 sessions
WEEK ONE
We come together to co-create a teaching feedback rubric. This template will serve as the tool for accessing feedback as it pertains to live instruction, script intention and theme, and facilitation values like agency and sensitivity.
Through small group sessions on zoom, we’ll access feedback on our scripts and on our live teaching.
WEEKS TWO, THREE, FOUR AND FIVE
Ninety minute online sessions that include leading a yoga nidra practice and receiving feedback from participants.
As a Teacher, You’ll:
Facilitate a yoga nidra practice for feedback. Includes preparing and offering the practice with support from me leading up to your practicum class (through email dialogue.)
Practice teaching live on zoom with half of participants upright and taking notes, and the other half of participants experiencing it through rest.
Receive feedback immediately after your live session and through the completed rubrics (submitted privately after class.)
As a participant, your commitment includes:
Providing feedback to each nidra teacher with a co-created rubric to guide our feedback and make it meaningful. (Some classes you’ll be resting, some you’ll be upright and alert.)
Being present for all practicum classes (1.5 hour time commitment and submitting your rubric to the teacher within one week of the class.)
Showing up with kindness and integrity to make this learning experience useful and joyous for all participants.

You are a very gifted teacher and you have clearly worked very hard to develop your skills. I appreciate so much your passion for what you do, your honesty and vulnerability, tact, and awareness and acceptance for whoever comes to class and whatever they might bring every day.
